The Back to Basics Program is a project that is supported by the individual affiliations, parishes and private donations. The project has been growing in Palm Beach Diocese for more than ten years and under the direction of Beverly Perham. Just as the Palm Beach County school year started, 550 school kids received two new school uniforms. Through the Back to Basics Program, school uniforms were given to students attending North Grade and South Grade Schools in Lake Worth, Barton Elementary in Lantana, the Guatemalan / Mayan Center, and the after school programs in Lake Worth and Boynton Beach. One hundred fifty uniforms were donated to the elementary schools in Belle Glade. The Back to Basics Angel Program is in full swing this fall through Christmas. Faithful supporters will donate, socks, underwear and sneakers to families in community that are struggling to survive in today's world. The program provides basic necessities that the children need to feel good about themselves. Back to Basics has grown from 300 childern to just over 7000 in a short time. While the uniform project is not as large as the Christmas program, it is growing and receiving much support from affiliations and private individuals. Both projects are supported by loyal women and parishes. For more information contact Beverly @ 561-795-7766.
